Meeting - Thursday, May 4th
We have another terrific speaker for this month's member meeting! Billy Sprague is a prolific speaker, songwriter, author and artist who first toured with Amy Grant and Michael W Smith before pursuing his own recording and songwriting path. Other artists such as Debbie Boone, Kathy Troccoli, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Sandi Patty, Susan Ashton and many others have recorded his songs. Via Dolorosa earned him a Song of the Year Dove Award. Man After Your Own Heart won inspirational song of the year. He has also co-written two award-winning youth musicals and currently has two Broadway-style musicals in development. The Last Days of Buster Drumwright, with partners in Nashville and a second musical, Riding Time with no Hands, which chronicles the life, loves, scars and dreams of an aspiring songwriter. As an author, Billy’s debut novel has just released. Music City Mayhymn is a detective story set in Nashville. His second novel is in the wings set for launch summer of 2023. He has authored two non-fiction books, Letter to a Grieving Heart and Is God Really There? (and is He good?). Letter to a Grieving Heart continues to be a perennial source of comfort with sales exceeding 50,000. And, as a recording artist, Billy's solo projects passionately reflect his life journey, including Soundtrack of My Soul and his latest, Songs in the Key of Awe. Find these and other works at: billyspraguemusic.comHis topic will be "Discovery vs Invention in the Songwriting Process" so don't miss it!
