Mark Wayne Glasmire Received “World Class” Honor For His Single ” I Like You”

Mark Wayne Glasmire received a “world class” honor during the Aristo Global Show today: the award-winning singer/songwriter accepted a plaque to commemorate his nine weeks at #1 as voted by European DJs (who are responsible for compiling the Hotdisc Top 40 Chart). Lee Williams of CMR Nashville was on hand at The Second Fiddle to make the presentation on Stuart Cameron’s behalf at the Aristo Show.
Glasmire won the award based upon the popularity of his International hit, “I Like You.” The breezy, light-hearted track took the chart’s #1 spot in a few short weeks and retained that position for a record-tying nine week run. Managing Director of Hotdisc, Stuart Cameron, says “It is unusual for a song to gain as much unprecedented reaction from the DJs in Europe as ‘I Like You’ received.” Cameron adds, “Only one other song (by Billy Yates) has made it to #1 one for nine weeks since we began in 2007.”
“I Like You” is now chart bound in the U.S. and the video has just been added by The Country Network (TCN). The track is the second U.S. single from Mark’s seven-song EP, MARK WAYNE GLASMIRE (Traceway Records), which was produced by Glasmire and John Albani and released globally in January of this year.  The disc is available now at iTunes and other e-tailers.

Mark Wayne Glasmire opens for Joe Ely at Uncle Clavins in May 5, 2012

May 05 --- Joe Ely --- ($26/$30) --- 8 PM --- Mark Wayne Glasmire opens

Joe Ely's covered a lot of ground in his time, with 33 recorded releases over the past 30+ years. When it comes to the mystical process of writing, singing, and performing music, there's no pretending or holding back. From Lubbock’s  Flatlanders, (Butch Hancock & Jimmie Dale Gilmore) to the Joe Ely Band, their  mixing of country and rock elements into something new and completely different,  to his incendiary solo acoustic sets, he remains a true Texas original. He has had a genre-crossing career, performing with Bruce Springsteen, Uncle Tupelo, Los Super Seven, The Chieftains and James McMurtry, in addition to his early work with The Clash and more recent acoustic tours with Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, and Guy Clark. The songs that Joe Ely sings are the stuff that makes anyone's
journey something worth remembering. Come see this wandering minstrel, gypsy cowboy while you can, this one is sure to sell out!

Mark Wayne Glasmire Celebrates EP Rollout Today

Award-winning songwriter, Mark Wayne Glasmire, celebrates today’s rollout of his newest EP release, MARK WAYNE GLASMIRE/Traceway Records, with a global nod, a hot U.S. single, and key video adds.  Glasmire, who ruled the International HotDisc Chart for nine consecutive weeks last year, was recently named the Chart’s “Most Popular Artist for 2011.”   His current U.S. single, “Going Home,” is moving rapidly up the Music Row Chart, sitting at #60 this week, and the artist’s debut video has just been added to GACtv.com and CMT.com. The “Going Home” video can also be seen on The Country Network, American Music Channel, Roughstock, Yallwire and Yahoo!Music.
“Things have definitely been on the upswing,” says the honey-voiced tenor with a laugh. “The new disc seems to resonate with early reviewers and the fan response to the single has been amazing.”
Glasmire has long been a favorite of music critics.  With MARK WAYNE GLASMIRE he is winning over even more tastemakers.
“MWG is made up of seven satisfying tracks. In a field of EPs that could easily benefit from editing, this group of songs has been put together with care; the tracks complement each other and leave you wanting more. It’s refreshing… and it reminds me a bit of the moment years ago when I first heard a young Collin Raye perform.” – ParcBench.com
“The songs are filled with infectious instrumental hooks and Glasmire has a very good, warm voice. Mark has a flare for a song.” – No Depression
“Glasmire is a throwback to the days of soothing, thoughtful singer/songwriters such as James Taylor, John Denver, Harry Chapin and Dan Fogelberg. He unabashedly makes music for baby boomers, writing songs steeped in melodies, lyrics and an air of familiarity. His songs exude the creative honesty of a true artist.” – Dallas Morning News
