BEDFORD - Karon Hi has found a place, but need the bodies to form a group.
Are you interested in meeting in the Midcities? Let us know. Coordinator, Karon High would like to meet in Euless.
The Directors feel that DSA can support a number of these small area Song Swaps which are beneficial to attaining crucial feedback for developing your works in progress and as Annie Benjamin pointed out, works best in small groups of 10 or less. If you live in a suburb and would like to host one in your area, please reply to the group and ask for interested attendees in your area. Three people make a group for peer review or interested co-writers. I know several people who have attended the Song Swap in the past have developed beneficial co-writing relationships.
Please email DSA or talk to a board member if you'd like to start one in your neighborhood.

By Jerry Shriver -- The duo, who met at 17 in 1950 and instantly began writing together, figured out how to make sly and sometimes risque blues and R&B songs sound hip and personal to several generations of Baby Boomers. But most of those lessons were learned after Elvis put them on the map in 1956 with Hound Dog, in a version that neutered their original intent.
Bob Paterno's blog Making Music Making Money

By Corey Denis -- At the very close of 2009, royalty collections agencySoundExchange revealed their Unpaid Artist List, and chances are there's a band you like on the list. Without spending a dime, you can help bands get checks in the mail. [Other tips for finding money: 1. If you are a member of a performing rights society and have moved without filing a change of address ... contact your PRO. There could be money looking for you. 2. If you are a songwriter whose songs have been recorded - and you've moved ... check with your publisher(s). 3. If you are a publisher member of the Harry Fox Agency and your circumstances have changed - check with HFA. There are thousands upon thousands of dollars available that can't be paid for want of a correct address. DK]
