Songwriters Notes E-News #195 February 2018

Hello Songwriter,

We have some fun things planned for this year. Our Board of Directors met in January to elect officers and plan for the year 2018. See the list below in Member News.

Spring brings a workshop with Gary Nicholson and our Songwriters Hall of Fame. We are honoring Delbert McClinton, Bruce Channel, Gary Nicholson, Jerry Lynn William, and the Nightcaps. Here is some more info on our inductees. https://dallassongwriters.org/coming-spring-dallas-songwriters-hall-fame/

We are planning some songwriting workshops with DFW area children TBD. We also plan to bring music to some nursing homes who do not normally have music do to facility budget restraints.
We also want to provide a song or two for bedridden patients who cannot attend the facility's normal activities. Know anyone that might benefit? Please let us know and we will work them in our schedule.
We will have a stage again at the Wildflower Festival in May and we will be at the Dallas Guitar Show also that month.

Coming in June is the Madison Music Conference, In Between The Waves, in June produced by Broadjam CEO Roy Elkins. http://btwmadison.com/  There will be a group of us going there. Are you interested?

Anyone going to Folk Alliance in KC? We'd like to hear from you.

Our monthly meeting features guest speaker, Josh Goode on Monday, Feb 5 at Half Price Books. See details below under Monthly Meeting.

Other regular DSA monthly events are the open mics on the 2nd Wednesday, 3rd Thursdays and 1st Monday.

Thanks to Paul Zander, Jon Jaggers, Bobby Montgomery, Ginger Stanoia, Kenneth Shoemaker, and Kristi Myers for their recent contributions to our fall fundraiser. Other contributors include Ireland, Jon Jaggers, Bill Kapac, Rio King, Mimi Balkey, Suzi Morse, and Jared LoStrato. There is still time to donate.
