SONGWRITERS NOTES E-NEWS #151 FEBRUARY 2014

Hello Songwriter,

Hope you are staying warm wherever you are! It's been pretty extreme here, but I really feel sorry for you guys on the east coast and in the north. Let's see what the groundhog has to say. Oh darn, Pete saw his shadow. Hunker down.

Roger's mom, Catherine has passed away and will be set to rest beside her husband in El Paso.

Election of officers occurred on January 12th. View the results here. http://dsadirectors.blogspot.com/

Our Second Tuesday Workshop will feature yours truly analyzing "Royals" the Grammy winning Song of the Year followed by song critiques. I'm honored to speak again and share some of the interesting things I do with the Collin College students. It's been a couple of years, since I've spoken at a meeting. - see #2 below for details.

The SongSwap is coming up at Half Price Books on 1st Monday. Our regular DSA monthly events remain the same 1st and 3rd Monday SongSwaps and 1st and 3rd Thursday Open Mic. For details, see #2 and #4 below. Also we have a regular showcase at House of Blues every last Wednesday of the month. This has grown into a very special event. We've added a new open mic for those down south. It's a christian fellowship in a historic building in Waxahachie, see #4 below. Food is served at 6PM and it goes for a couple of hours.

2-Bit Palomino will present a day of workshops and performance in Feb at the MLC Grand in Lewisville. The day will cover several workshops and a performance. See workshops #7 below.

Wow! This year is starting out with a bang! We now have 7 regular monthly events.
