The Directors feel that DSA can support a number of these small area Song Swaps which are beneficial to attaining crucial feedback for developing your works in progress and as Annie Benjamin pointed out, works best in small groups of 10 or less. If you live in a suburb and would like to host one in your area, please reply to the group and ask for interested attendees in your area. Three people make a group for peer review or interested co-writers. I know several people who have attended the Song Swap in the past have developed beneficial co-writing relationships.
Please email DSA or talk to a board member if you'd like to start one in your neighborhood.

By Chris Bracco -- In the first part of this blog series, I suggested that you write down some defining characteristics about your music, your lifestyle, and your fans. I hope you kept that piece of paper, because now you are going to use those keywords in your search to find the best blogs to approach with your music.
By Paul Lilly -- Dension has figured out a way to cram tens of thousands of Internet radio stations into your pocket with no one ever being the wiser. It's called theWebradio.
By Jonathan Ostrow --Musicians are entrepreneurs whether they want to believe it or not. By writing music under a band name, pen name or even just theirown name, they have effectively created a brand that must be properly marketed if it is to thrive and flourish. But there in-lies a major problem: not all musicians know anything about marketing and they will eventually make some critical mistakes that lead to the demise of their short-lived venture.
How to REALLY Get Your Music on Blogs: Defining Your Music, Your Lifestyle, and Your Fans
By Chris Bracco -- Music blogs have become an extremely effective medium for artists to garner positive, and sometimes career-changing exposure for musicians. Getting featured on a blog can cause significant boosts in music and ticket sales for an artist, ...However, getting featured on blogs is a very meticulous and time-consuming process.
By Sheryl Nance-Nash -- So you think you can write a song? Maybe you stand out among the competition, but if you want to make a living this way you'll need more than the right melody, lyrics and rhythm to keep you afloat. Your business savvy better equal your talent. But before you start working the system you must understand a few things about how the system works. LITERARY DEVICES - Part 2 Similes
By Bryan Gardiner -- Lots of musicians have studios; Trent Reznor has an alchemist's laboratory. On hiatus from touring, the Nine Inch Nails frontman has stuffed a converted garage with blinking electronic doodads, from modded synthesizers and sequencers to archaic drum machines. Reznor is using all this gear for his new band, How to Destroy Angels. Here's how one song off the group's forthcoming EP evolved from a seeming cacophony of beats and weird noise into a dense, polyrhythmic track.
Celebrating the Centennial of Songwriter Frank Loesser
By Will Friedwald -- Composer Frank Loesser, whose centennial is being celebrated all over the country this month was the most quintessentially "New York" of the great Broadway songwriters—and not by accident. ...
